Magnet Application Process
FLAIM is an academic magnet school with the theme of immersion. As a public school, FLAIM is tuition-free.
Students must apply for a spot in magnet schools. Be sure to completely follow the directions on the application to ensure that your child's application is processed.
Apply on-line at ebrmagnet.org.
Kindergarten applicants must turn 5 by September 30th of their kindergarten year.

Complete the online application.

During the application process, you will be asked to select your 1st choice program and then your 2nd choice program:

FLAIM offers 3 programs

Each language (French, Mandarin, and Spanish) is considered a separate program.

You may choose one language as your 1st choice program and another language as your 2nd choice program.

You may choose to upload your 2 proofs of residency in the portal or email them to jlouque1@ebrschools.org.

During the application process, you will be able to digitally sign the signature page.

Mortgage statement current within 30 days

Home phone bill (not cell phone) current within 30 days

If an affidavit of residency is needed, please complete the Louisiana Affidavit of Residency:

The affidavit of residency must be notarized.

Two proofs of residency in the name listed on the affidavit must also be submitted.

A copy of the driver's license for both the parent/legal guardian and the homeowner listed on the affidavit must be included.

IMPORTANT! If at any time your address, phone number, or email changes, please notify FLAIM's Magnet Site Coordinator at jlouque1@ebrschools.org. Your contact information that you enter will be used throughout the process to update you on your application status.

* Students applying for kindergarten and 1st grade DO NOT need to know the language.
Students applying for 2nd through 5th grade need to be transferring from an immersion school or be a heritage speaker.
**Due to this requirement, the application portal needs to be opened on a case-by-case basis for 2nd through 5th grade applicants. Please contact FLAIM's Magnet Site Coordinator at jlouque1@ebrschools.org for further information on applying to 2nd through 5th grade.
